One Mitzvah at a Time!

|

“I love mother Russia. If I would own a chest of gold and silver I would give it away to Mother Russia.”

“WOW! Amazing! But, what about the horse sitting in the barn; how is it that you’ve not gifted it to Mother Russia?”

“Brother! What’s a horse! I’m talking about gold and silver!!!”

“I know. But gold is a dream. You don’t have it yet. You don’t know what it feels like to own the gold and silver! The horse you have! Mother Russia doesn’t need the gold and silver of your dreams, it needs the horse you actually have!!

We all have a big bucket list of good things to do. However, there is often a “but” that comes afterwards. I would love to help, but first I have to sell my business and retire.

We need to start with the “horses” and not wait for the gold and silver.

There is a wise quote from our sages: “If not now, when? If not me, then who?”

We need to grab good deeds like we grab good deals. We don’t wait. We close the deal. We have no time to wait.

Close one deal at a time. Start with a small deal and then go to the big deals. Every mitzvah counts. Find a small bite you can swallow and do it! Give a dollar to Tzedakah a day. The idea is doing a mitzvah.

Everything starts with a baby step. A penny. A minute. One Mitzvah at a time!

Shabbat Shalom
