Dave Christenberry
Director of Facilities
Dave Christenberry joins the Moise Safra Center after 6 years with Congregation B’nai Jeshurun on the Upper West Side. After 25 years in corporate meeting and event production, Dave attained his certification in Project Management (PMP) from Villanova, with the goal of bringing his years of hands-on logistics and project management experience to the non-profit sector. Dave also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College.
Dave was brought onboard as BJ’s first-ever Manager of Logistics and Events, tasked with managing logistics for all of BJ’s ongoing, programs and services, across the organization. In the process, Dave also took on responsibility for building maintenance, developing appropriate protocols and processes, as well as managing BJ’s facilities team.
In the summer of 2017, after initiating ambitious internal and external construction projects—while the building was fully operational—BJ embarked on a simultaneous project of reconfiguring and renovating their main office floor. Dave and his team managed a rotation of staff, furniture, and materials, to facilitate the work being done in phases.
In his last role at BJ, Dave worked in partnership with the Executive Director, to maintain an overview, and track progress, on numerous major capital projects. This included monitoring and mitigating impact on daily operations, with multiple stakeholders, timeline and cost tracking, periodic progress reporting, and planning and implementing logistics (including COVID protocols) for resuming in-person services, programs, and events.
Along the way, Dave has also gained FDNY Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems (S-95), and Fire Life Safety Director (F-89) certifications, and training in DHS/CISA Active Shooter Preparedness, and Basic CPR with AED.
